About RealABQ and Me
RealABQ Real Estate is me, Joe LaMastra. I’m an independent, local Albuquerque real estate agent and broker and RealABQ is my company.
I went independent in 2018 so I could avoid the typical conflicts of interest and commission issues that other Realtors have when working in larger brokerages – some of those same issues that are rocking our industry now.
I practice exclusive, single agency. In fact, I’m one of the few Realtors in the Albuquerque area that will actually act as an agent and fiduciary for you. I also stopped forcing my clients to pay the high commissions the big brokerages require, and that will save you money whether you are selling or buying a home.
While I believe “Win-Win” is an admirable goal in all negotiations and deals, when I represent you as your exclusive agent, I’m working for you and you only. Your best deal is my first and only goal. Treating the other side ethically and fairly is important, of course, but you are my focus.
I am fully client focused and as an agent, always put your interest above all else. I use my skills and diligence to simplify the complex. I’m detail oriented and well versed in the ins and outs of the real estate industry.
When I help you close a deal, it’s not the day of closing I care about. It’s the years after. I want the sale we close today to still look like a great deal for as long as you might think back on it. If you are a buyer, for as long as you own that home, right to the day you sell it or pass it on.
I’ve been a broker and agent for over 16 years. I learned this business in Southwest Colorado, where I helped folks buy starter homes, grand residences, retirement properties and spectacular mountain cabins. After moving to Albuquerque, I’ve continued to work with a diverse portfolio of properties. Though I’ve focused on residential real estate, I’ve also brokered complicated and difficult land deals and brought them to successful close, worked with clients on reverse mortgages, short sales & foreclosures and 1031 exchanges.
I was born in New England but spent much of my life in Baltimore, Maryland, (Go Ravens! And how ‘bout dem Os hon?). Much as I love Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay area, I decided to move on and landed in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, in 2007. After six years up in the Rockies, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and now call the Land of Entrapment my home.
I dig NFL football, shooting pool, live music of all types and, when not working, spending days tearing up desert highways on my Harley Dyna Super Glide.
If you’d like to know more about how I can help you sell your home in Albuquerque, let’s talk. You’re a buyer looking for exclusive buyer representation? I’m happy to show you what I can do for you. Drop me a line – email, text or call. I look forward to hearing from you.
