As Goodman Realty Group kicks into high gear with the re-development of Winrock, once Albuquerque’s first shopping mall, the already wide variety of shopping a services of the Uptown area will be nicely enhanced. With well know national retail chains like Dillards, Trader Joe’s, Target and Apple Store and eateries ranging from Viet Taste to Ruth’s Chris Uptown is a go to place for Burquenos.

But Uptown is more than the shopping district centered on Indian School Road and Louisiana. Well know neighborhoods like Snow Heights to the southeast and Bel air and Hodgin to the west offer affordable homes that hover right around that $156k median area price, while for a bit more, you can easily find a highly regarded Mossman-Gladden home in neighborhoods like Stardust Skies or the aptly named Mossman subdivision. If you don’t want to cut the grass, you can spend less than $90k for a Winrock Villas condo within walking distance of Winrock Center.

Snow Heights and the Inez neighborhoods just east of ABQ Uptown offer quick access shopping and the highway, and have a number of lovely, small parks. Typically modest, 3 bed 2 bath homes range in size from 1,000 to 2,400 square feet and sell from the low $100ks to the low $200ks.

On the west side of Uptown are neighborhoods like Bel Air, developed by builder Harvey Golightly and intended as a separate village before being annexed into Albuquerque in 1951. Bel Air has a median home price of $126k, but that includes a handful of 900 square foot condos that sell below $100k. The more typical detached Bel Air home runs closer to 1,300 square feet and sells in the low to mid $100k area.

Move to the northern reaches of Uptown between Candelaria road and Montgomery Blvd and you’ll the larger, pricier homes of the Mossman and Stardust Skies neighborhoods. This is one of the highest concentrations of Mossman-Gladden Homes in Albuquerque.

One of the more well regarded builders of the mid 1900s in Albuquerque, Mossman homes tend to have slightly higher values that similar area homes. Homes in this area run closer to 2,000 square feet in size. Typically single level and with open living areas and large windows, these homes sell at a median price of roughly $240k.
